Sustainability

Your organization can take steps to manage waste, reduce energy costs and to be a better steward of the earth while saving money. We can help. Whether you are a business, school, place of worship or a homeowner, call us today!

Buy Local

Sustainable Midlands encourages Midlands’ residents to support local business, artisans, food producers, schools and non-profits. These organizations are the foundation of our unique community!

Citizen’s Voice Partnerships

Projects with citizen groups and other non profit organizations to educate, inspire and involve the community in actions that will implement individual concepts of sustainable communities.

Coalition Meetings

Sustainable Midlands hosts regular meetings to foster discussion and coordination on specific topics or problems. Our role is to arrange the meetings and facilitate dialogue for the benefit of building sustainable communities.

Local Food

We encourage residents to eat well and be healthy, to garden and to support our local farmers. The Tasty Tomato Festival is an annual community event that celebrates local food.

Solid Waste Reduction

Educational Seminars in Management of Yard Waste, a campaign to require festivals on public property to require recycling plans and general awareness by education in our newsletter all encourage our residents to reduce the waste sent to the landfills.
